Descriptions of nomination categories
The 2024 Colorado Apprenticeship Awards will be held the evening on Thursday, November 14th, 2024 in the Metro Denver area and will honor outstanding:
- Apprentices
- Businesses/Employer
- Mentors/Journeyperson
- Programs
- Partners
- Champions
This year we will be honoring a winner in both the Building & Construction Trades and the New & Emerging Industries for each category!
1. Nominations will close at 11:59 p.m. MST on Monday, September 30th.
2. Apprenticeship Awards nominations in the following categories must be affiliated with a Registered Apprenticeship Program recognized by the Colorado State Apprenticeship Agency (Apprenticeship Colorado) to be considered:
  1. Apprentices
  2. Businesses/Employer
  3. Mentors/Journeyperson
  4. Programs
3. Nominees must be in good standing with Apprenticeship Colorado and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment to be considered.
4. Both self-nominations and nominations of others are welcomed. Nominations from all industries, backgrounds, and areas of the state are encouraged.
5. 2023 winners are not eligible for the 2024 Apprenticeship Awards

APPRENTICE: Apprentices will be recognized based on their contributions to their organization and successful progress in the Registered Apprenticeship Program. Read more about the Apprentice nomination category.

BUSINESS/EMPLOYER: Employers will be recognized based on their contributions to the apprentice success and industry for which they represent. Any employer must be a registered partner in delivering some or all of the on-the-job learning component of the Registered Apprenticeship Program. Read more about the Business/Employer nomination category.

MENTOR/JOURNEYPERSON: Mentors, or journeypersons, are individuals that have a formal role in guiding an apprentice in their on-the-job learning component of their Registered Apprenticeship, typically overseeing the skills earned during employment. Read more about the Mentor/Journeyperson nomination category.

PROGRAM: Registered Apprenticeship Programs will be recognized based on their contributions to the career and education of apprentices, effectiveness meeting the training and hiring needs of the employer, and contribution to the Colorado economy. Programs must be operating in Colorado and registered with Apprenticeship Colorado or the USDOL national office. R ead more about the Program nomination category.

PARTNERS [Organizations]: Partners will be recognized based on their ability to enhance program quality, increase equity in apprenticeship, and/or aligning with industry needs. Read more about the Partners nomination category.

CHAMPION [Individuals]: Apprenticeship Champions are individuals recognized based on their role in advocating for Registered Apprenticeship and as a result, have made an expansion impact in their communities across Colorado. Read more about the Champion nomination category.
